Rose C. (Roia) Policarpo

New Bedford- Rose C. (Roia) Policarpo aged 92 died after a long illness Tuesday November 28th at the Hathaway Manor Nursing Facilities. She was the widow of Tobias F. Policarpo. She was the loved mother of Sophie De Mello, and Steven Policarpo, both of New Bedford. She was the loving grandmother of Susan Rezendes, Michael, Joseph, Jacqueline, and Lisa De Mello, and Corey, and Brandi Policarpo. She was the sister of Julia Correia of Lakeville, and the late Steven Roia. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, and nephews.

Mrs. Policarpo was the daughter of the late Francisco C. and Rose (Enos) Roia. She was born in New Bedford, she was raised in Salga, Sao Miguel, Acores, and returned to this area in 1950. She was a stitcher at local mills until her retirement.

Mrs. Policarpo Funeral will be at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St., Monday December 4th at 8 A.M. With a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M.
