Joao F. Frias

New Bedford, MA-Joao F. Frias died November 2, 2006 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of Idalena (Braga) Frias. He was the father of Maria Frias of Montreal Canada, Jose Manuel Frias, and John Luis Frias both of New Bedford, MA. He was the Grandfather of Donovan and Derek Rosanina. He was the brother of Maria Rosanina of New Bedford, Maria daConceicao Linhares of Toronto, Canada, Libania Mattos, Ivalia Frias, Jose Frias all of Dartmouth, MA., and Zacarias Frias of Hamilton, Canada. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Frias was born in Ribeira Quente Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal. He was the son of Jose Antonio and Maria doCarmo (Linhares) Frias. He lived in this area for 34 years. He was formerly a landscaper with Francisco Tavares Landscaping.

Funeral will be Monday November 6, 2006 at 11 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St., with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 12 P.M.. Visiting hours are Sunday November 5, 2006 from 5-8 P.M.. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.
