Shirley Cruz

Rhode Island- Shirley Cruz, age 59, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the mother of Stephen Cruz of New Bedford. Ms. Cruz was the sister of Gloria Tavares and Lorraine Araujo both of New Bedford. She was the sister of the late Joseph, Alfred Jr., Ronald, Diane and Debra Cruz.

Ms. Cruz was born in New Bedford and lived here all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Bertha (Ares) and Alfred L. Cruz.

Her Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home at 7: 30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Her visiting hours will be Friday evening from 7-9 P.M. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Centralized Memorial Processing Center, 30 Speen St., Framingham, Ma. 01701- 9376.
