Mary R. (Arruda) Barros

Boston - Mary R. Barros, age 94, died unexpectedly, Friday August 11, 2006 at Beth Israel Hospital. She was the wife of the late Joseph Barros. the Mother of Bruce A. Barros of Bristol, R.I., Sylvia Hebert of Rochester, MA., Cynthia R. wife of Edward P. Sylvia of Freetown. MA., and Barbara Bernard of New Bedford,MA. Mrs. Barros was the sister of Irene Rose and Silvina Oliver both of Dartmouth, MA., Jose Arruda, George Arruda, Leonard Arruda and Geraldine Simon all of California and the late John Arruda, Sophia Taylor, Serafina Sylvia and Gloria Souza. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Barros was born in Dartmouth, MA. the daughter of the late Jacintho and Mary (Silvia) Arruda. She was a member of the St. John’s Forever Young Club. Mrs. Barros was a stitcher for Economy Blouse Company until her retirement.

Mrs. Barros funeral will be Monday from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 9:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Sunday from 5 - 8 P.M.
