J. Cynthia (Zielinski) Mello

New Bedford – J. Cynthia (Zielinski) Mello, age 84, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of John Mello.

She was born in New Bedford, MA to the late John S. Zielinski and Helen (Cebula) Zielinski. She had worked many years for the New Bedford Public School System, as a teacher and a principal.

She is survived by her beloved husband, John Mello; her son, Michael Mello and his fiancé Sarah; her two grandchildren, Adella Mello and Brendan Mello; as well as her brother, James Zielinski.

Visiting hours will be held at Perry Funeral Home on Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 3:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. Her Funeral will take place on Monday, beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow at South Dartmouth Cemetery.
