Maria Camara

Boston –Maria (Aguiar) Camara, age 75, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Brigham and Women's Hospital after a long illness. She was the beloved wife of Manuel Camara.

She was born in St. Michael, Azores to the late Maria Dos Anjos (Martins) Aguiar and Jordao Aguiar. Maria loved to travel to the St. Michael, Azores every year, she also loved her animals and liked to sew.

Maria is survived by her husband, Manuel; her son, Emanuel Camara and his wife Mary; grandchildren, Madison Camara and Finn Smith; sister, Ana Camara and her husband Joseph; brother, Virgilio Aguiar and his wife Dora; as well several nieces and nephews.

Maria’s visiting hours will be held at Perry Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, beginning in the funeral home at 9:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
