Ana Derosario Martins

New Bedford – Ana DeRosario (Gomes) Martins, age 83, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Nogueira Martins.

Ana was born in Lisbon, Portugal, to the late Maria DeConceicao (Martins) Gomes and Jose Gomes. She emigrated to the United States with her family in 1972 and was a homemaker raising her six children. She loved spending time with her family. She had a passion for knitting colorful, beautiful clothing, she loved fashion and listening to music.

Ana is survived by her children, Jorge Nogueira and his wife Lynn, Michael Martins, Antonio Martins and his wife Erika Martinez, Sandra Fernandes and her husband Jose, Elizabeth Calheta and her husband Jose and Nelson Martins and his wife Julie; 10 grandchildren, Jacob and his wife Caitlin, Brittney, Nathan, Brenden, Andrew, Kyle, Matthew, Mia, Lily, and Nicholas; 3 great-grandchildren, Braelyn, Isabella and Madison; as well as several brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ana’s visiting hours and funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023. Visiting hours at Perry Funeral Home will be held from 8:00 A.M. – 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
