Odilia C. Pavao

New Bedford – Odilia C. Pavao, age 94, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel A. Pavao.

Odilia was born in Ginetes, São Miguel, Açores to the late Antonia Amelia (Martins) and Joao Pavao Araujo. She had moved to the United States in 1968 and had been very proud to become a citizen. She had worked at Cliftex Pajama Co. as a stitcher.

She is survived by her children, Jose Manuel Pavao and his wife Doris, Carlos A Pavao and his wife Deolinda, Maria A. Bicho and her late husband Cesar, Amelia Silva, Aida Arruda and Maria Borges and her husband Joe; 15 grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was also the mother of the late Mario Jorge Pavao and sister of the late Amelia Carvalho, Maria Medeiros and Aida Oliveira.

Odilia’s visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Perry Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Her funeral will take place Thursday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
