Jose P. Costa

New Bedford – Jose P. Costa, age 73, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Graca (Santos) Costa.

Jose was born in Ribeira Seca, São Miguel, Azores to the late Manuel Da Costa and Maria Amelia (Pacheco) Da Costa. He had worked over the years as a machine operator for both Chamberlain and Priority Finishing.

Jose’s greatest wishes throughout his life were peace, love and happiness. He loved his family and had a special love for his dogs.

He is survived by his loving wife, Graca Costa; his children, Elizett Miguel and her husband Lee, Jennifer Machado and her husband Carlos and Brian Costa and his husband Brian Lanouette; grandchildren, Casey Costa, Korina Miguel and Khloe Miguel and his great-granddaughter, Aria Nunes.

Jose’s visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Perry Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. His funeral will take place on Thursday, beginning in the funeral home at 9:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
