Benjamin Gaffin

S. Dartmouth MA -Benjamin Gaffin died Thursday May 25, 2006, at St. Luke’s Hospital New Bedford MA, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Ruth (Goldstein) Asser Griffin. He was the father of Irwin and his wife Margery Gaffin of Kingston NY, Michael and his wife Joni Gaffin of Royal Palm Beach, FL. He was the stepfather of Eliot and his wife Diane Asser of St. Louis MI. and Irving Asser of New Bedford. He was the brother of Celia Ruggier of FL. Also he had eight grand children, three Great Grand children and Several Nieces and Nephews.

Mr. Gaffin was the son of Issac and Rose (Lapp) Gaffin, and lived in this area all his life. He was an Executive Vice President of Rodney Metals. He was a member of the Tifereth Israel Synagogue, member of the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home and a member of the Jewish war Vets Post 154 of New Bedford. He was a veteran himself of the U.S. Air Corps during the World War II.
