Edward Ferreira Dias

New Bedford – Edward F. Dias, age 83, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at his home with his loving family by his side.

Edward was born in New Bedford, MA to the late Adelaide (Domingos) DeMello and Edward F. Dias. He had been a Textile Supervisor until his retirement. He had a love for cars, riding motorcycles and NASCAR. He especially enjoyed Drag Racing with his son, David and also loved spending time with all of his children.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores Dias, of Fairhaven; his children, Debra Pinheiro, of New Bedford Linda Cimaglia, of Warwick, RI Edward Dias and wife Debra of Fairhaven and David Dias and wife Robbin of New Bedford; his grandchildren, Keith Pinheiro, Erin Croteau, Evan Richard, Brian Dias, JoLene Lopez, Thomas Opozda, Jr. and Meaghan Cimaglia. He is also survived by his 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; his siblings, sisters, Dorothy Zell and Margaret Liberty and his brother, Robert DeMello; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Edward’s Funeral Mass with his cremains present will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 at St. Francis Church in Acushnet at 10:00 A.M. All attendees are kindly asked to meet directly at the church.
