Zelia (Pacheco) Raposo

Fairhaven – Zelia (Pacheco) Raposo, age 92, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022 at the Royal of Fairhaven. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel F. Raposo.

Zelia was born in Povoação, São Miguel, Azores to the late Jose Vitorino Pacheco and Maria Estrela (Cabral) Pacheco. She had worked for Aerovox for many years.

She is survived her children, George Raposo of Fall River, Lucia Silva of New Bedford, Steven Raposo and his wife Melissa of Freetown; grandchildren, Christine Silva, Luis Silva, Steven Raposo, Monica Raposo, Jacob Raposo, Sierra and Sophia; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Aiden, Nathan, Alexis, Connor and Jordyn; sisters, Ilda Vieira and Rosalina Pacheco; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her late siblings, Jose Vieira, Manuel Pacheco and Maria Jose.

Zelia’s visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Perry Funeral home from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Her funeral will take place Thursday morning, beginning in the funeral at 9:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
