Jose (Joey) Pereira

New Bedford – Jose (Joey) Pereira, age 48, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Jose was born in New Bedford, MA to Carolina Pereira and the late Joaquim Pereira. He had been a direct care staff member at the Seven Hills Foundation.

He is survived by his mother, Carolina Pereira; his 2 children, Jerrell J. Pereira and Jennell C. Pereira; siblings, Joaquim Pereira, Jr., John Pereira and Elizabeth Macedo; granddaughter, Zayleah R. Pereira; nieces and nephews, Rick J. Teixeira, Marquis A. Teixeira, Tevin Teixeira and Tiannah Teixeira; former wife, Tanisha Lopes; his aunts and uncle, Etelvina Da Rosa, Matilda Macedo and Abilio Macedo and his best friend, Armando Gomes.

Jose’s visiting hours will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. His funeral will take place Thursday morning, in the funeral home, beginning at 11:00 A.M. with a service 12:00 P.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
