New Bedford – Donald A. Seifert 82, of New Bedford, Ma, passed away on July 29th, 2022.
Donald was born in Acushnet, Ma on April 23rd, 1940. He began his lifelong career as a carpenter working alongside his father. He eventually opened his own successful carpentry business while still finding time to build his own home in Freetown Ma. Later in life, Donald expanded his career working for Electric Boat Company. Donald was always very hard working, resourceful, talented and took pride in his work.
Donald can be best remembered as being personable, having a great sense of humor with a contagious laugh. He enjoyed music, the great outdoors and was an avid hunter and gun enthusiast. He was a long-time member of the Algonquin Rod & Gun Club and member of the exclusive Big Buck Club of Maine.
Donald is survived by his sister, Marjorie Orabona of Sudbury, Ma, stepsister Diana Pacheco & her husband Robert of Fairhaven, Ma, former wife Claire L. Seifert of Wareham, Ma and children: Scott Seifert & his wife Gail of Rochester, Ma, Douglas Seifert & his wife Sharon of Middleboro, Ma, Kim (Seifert) Amaral & her husband Clement of New Bedford, Ma, Sharon Seifert of New Bedford, Ma, Donald Seifert II & his wife Christina of Westminster, Ma, as well as his wife Andrea Seifert and youngest son Brett Seifert of New Bedford, Ma. He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and many beloved family and friends.
Donald was predeceased by his parents, Doris (Eaglestone) and August Seifert and stepmother Ethel Seifert all of Freetown Ma and his sister Joyce Keith of South Dartmouth, Ma.
Donald’s visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Perry’s Funeral Home at 111 Dartmouth St New Bedford, Ma. His funeral will take place on Friday morning, beginning at the funeral home at 10:00 AM. Burial will immediately follow the funeral at Acushnet Cemetery at 91 South Main St Acushnet Ma.
