Evaristo Esteireiro

New Bedford – Evaristo Esteireiro, age 85, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Silvina) de Medeiros .

Evaristo was born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal and was the beloved son of the late Angelo Jesus Esteireiro and Virginia (De Jesus) Esteireiro. He had worked for many years as a landscaper.

Evaristo was loved by all who knew him and loved spending time with his family. His favorite pastime was watching soccer and his favorite team, Benfica.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Esteireiro; children, Lucilia Fortunato and her husband Carlos, Maria Isabel Ferreira and her husband Victor, Maria Grace Sousa and Zeca, Natalie Soares and her husband Nelson and Jacob Esteireiro and his wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Desiderio, Tiago, Victor, Keven, Francisco, Jaime, Nicolas, Alexandre and Kenny; 5 great-grandchildren and 2 nieces.

He was the father of the late David Esteireiro.

Evaristo’s visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Perry Funeral home from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. His funeral will take place Monday, beginning in the funeral home at 9:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
