Louis A. Luiz

New Bedford - Louis A. Luiz, also known as Louie, age 57, of New Bedford MA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday July 2, 2022. He was the beloved husband of 20 years to Margarida Melo.

Louie was born in Brooklyn, New York and was the loving son of the late Robert Luiz and Sandra Clark. He was also the step-son to the late Donald Clark. Louie was employed at Darn It! at the time of his passing.

He was a devoted husband and father to his family and will be terribly missed. You could always find Louie sitting on his porch with a Budweiser, a radio, and his two dogs Reece and Parker that he adored so much. Waving and talking to anyone that walked by. Louie loved connecting with people and making friends where ever he could. He was an avid sports fan and loved his rock music. One of his favorite things to do was fish with his best friend and partner in crime of 40 years Bruce Kimball of New Bedford.

His family includes his loving wife Margarida Melo; his 4 children, Louis W. Luiz, Brittany M. DeVasconcelos, Andrea M. DeVasconcelos, and James N. DeVasconcelos. His twin sister Lois A. Gibeault; brothers Robert J. Luiz, Joseph J. Luiz and sister Theresa M. Luiz; As well as his known favorite niece Sarah Medeiros and several other nieces and nephews, all of New Bedford.

Louie’s visiting hours will take place this Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Perry Funeral Home between the hours of 2pm-5pm. The family will have a Celebration of Life for Louie in the coming months at the Panthers Club.
