Mario Fagundes

Dartmouth – Mario Fagundes, age 78, of Dartmouth, MA, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Agnes Ann (Mont) Fagundes.

Mario was born in Faial, Azores, Portugal and was the loved son of the late Jose Fagundes and Ana Amelia (Oliveira) Fagundes. He had been a United States Navy Veteran. After his service in the Navy, he had gone on to work for both, the Concordia Boat Yard and the New Bedford Public School System. He had been a master carpenter, who could build just about anything and was also a master of small engine repairs in his spare time.

Mario is survived by his daughter, Lisa Barton-Young and her husband Shawn Young; 5 grandchildren, Quincy Barton, Grant Barton, Tyler Barton, Devin Fagundes and Taylor Fagundes; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was the father of the late Mario Fagundes and was predeceased by his late siblings, Jose Fagundes and Carlos Manuel Fagundes.

Mario’s visiting hours and funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 2, 2022. Visiting hours will be held at Perry Funeral Home from 8:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church in Dartmouth at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
