New Bedford – Leonardo Beltran III, age 48, was born on August 8, 1973 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, MA and passed away suddenly in his home on March 17, 2022.
He was a graduate of New Bedford High School and was an avid athlete in baseball, football and some boxing. He further pursued some courses in college in engineering before being diagnosed with Lupus.
He had a passion for animals and had even taken in dogs in need. He loved and was loved by so many family members and friends. He was a very loving and selfless person to many. He always had a special place in his heart for his three beautiful daughters.
Leonardo was the beloved son of Leonardo Beltran Jr. and the late Joan Dancy and her husband David Dancy; grandson of the late Deacon Antonio Da Cruz, the late Joanna Da Cruz, Luz Navedo and the late Leonardo Beltran Sr.
Daughters, Idalis, Johanelly and Amari Beltran; siblings, Alejandro, Ricardo and Brandon Beltran and sister-in-law Kimberly Beltran, Marissa B. Lewis and brother-in-law Stephenson M. Lewis. He also leaves behind, a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Leonardo's visiting hours with his cremains will take place on Saturday, April 23rd from 2-4 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home with a service to take place during visiting hours.
