Theresa J. (Lopes) Tyson

New Bedford – Theresa J. (Lopes) Tyson, age 71, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 21, 2022 at The Oaks. She was the beloved wife of the late John Tyson.

Theresa was born in New Bedford, MA and was the loved daughter of George Lopes and Juliette (Prenda) Lopes. She had worked as a cloth inspector at Berkshire Hathaway over the years. She was a devout Christian, who loved God and attending church.

Theresa is survived by her daughter, Melissa Campbell; her son, Christopher Campbell both of New Bedford; grandchildren, Justin DeFino and his wife Alexandra Felix of Dartmouth, Cody DeFino, Austin Campbell and Stefani Campbell, all of New Bedford; great-grandchildren, Sakari Manly-DeFino and Leilah Manley-DeFino; as well as her sister, Nancy Fortunato and her husband Bernie of Arizona and her former spouse and friend, Stephan Campbell of New Bedford.

Theresa’s visiting hours and funeral services will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022 at Perry Funeral Home. Visiting hours will be held from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. with a service to begin at 12:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
