Jorge S. Verissimo

New Bedford - Jorge S. Verissimo, age 70, of New Bedford, passed away at home peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 23, 2022. He was the beloved husband of the late Maria Isabel (Souza) Verissimo.

Jorge was born São Mateus da Calheta, Terceira, Azores to the late Jose Verissimo and Maria Leonor (Silveira) Verissimo. After coming to this country, he had worked for AFC Cable Systems as a machine operator over the years. He enjoyed walking around the beach and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Jorge is survived by his 2 sons, Steve M. Verissimo, his wife Sandra and their children, Lyndsie and Vincent Jorge Verissimo and Kevin Verissimo, all of New Bedford; his sister, Adriana Correia and brother, Joao M. Verissimo; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his late sister, Maria (Verissimo) Dias.

Jorge’s visiting hours and funeral service will be held on Monday February 28, 2022. His visiting hours will take place from 8:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
