New Bedford – Eileen (Barboza) Lema, age 69, of New Bedford passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard Lema.
Born in New Bedford, MA she was the beloved daughter of Antonio Barboza and Winona (Sylvia) Barbosa. She had worked at Cornell Dubilier for many years. Eileen learned about Jehovah God on April 24, 1972 and was baptized on June 15, 1985. Eileen’s favorite Bible song was number 8 in the songbook is “Jehovah is our Refuge”. She was a lover of music in general, especially The Beatles “In my Life” and “Help”. She loved people, animals, the beach, lighthouses, and sunflowers.
Eileen is survived her 2 children, Eileen Lenore Lema and Leonard Lema Jr. and his wife Pamela Amaral-Lema; 3 grandchildren, Shawn Amaral-Lema, Summer Amaral-Lema and Andrew Amaral-Lema; siblings, Antonio Barbosa, Ernest Barbosa and Paul Barbosa; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Eileen’s visiting hours will be held on Wednesday evening, February 23, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Her funeral will be on Thursday, in the funeral home, beginning at 11:00 A.M. and followed with a service held by Elder Santos at 12:00 P.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
