Roger 'Whiskey' Barros

New Bedford – Roger “Whiskey” Barros, age 88, of New Bedford, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Blanche E. (Callier) Barros, who recently passed in January 2022.

Roger was born in New Bedford, MA to the late Cazemiro Barros and Adeline “Lilly” (Espinola) Barros. He had worked for both, the State of MA and the City of New Bedford in the electrical department.

Roger is survived by; daughter, Denise Ponte; granddaughters, Jodie Ponte, Tracy Ponte, Dylan Ponte and Nicole Ponte; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Sherman, Leilani Ponte and Nevaeh Ponte; 3 siblings, Cynthia Rocha-DeBarros and Cheryl DaCosta, both of New Bedford and Henry “Jikky” Rogers of Florida.

He was predeceased by his late siblings, Evelyn Pina Viera and Frank Barros.

Roger’s memorial service will be held together with his late wife Blanche on Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 2:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. with a service to take place during this time.
