Francisco A. Pacheco

New Bedford – Francisco A. Pacheco, age 83, of New Bedford, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Maria M. (Gomes) Pacheco.

Francisco was born in Porto Judeu, Terceira, Açores, Portugal to the late Francisco Caetano Pacheco and Jesuina (Azevedo) Pacheco. In 1965, he moved to the United States, where he started work at Tavares Movers and Codman and Shurtleff in the New Bedford Industrial Park. He later went on to work as a machine operator at American Flexible Conduit until his retirement in 2001.

He had been a member of the Clube Recreativo e Cultural Portugues de Warren, R.I. and a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, New Bedford, MA. Francisco enjoyed watching Sporting and Benfica soccer teams, gardening, talking to his siblings, as well as fishing with his son and grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, Frank D. Pacheco and his wife, Rosa A. Pacheco; grandson, Frank A. Pacheco; granddaughter, Catherine M. Pacheco; his siblings, Jesuina Pacheco Carvalho of Porto Judeu, Maria de Fatima Pacheco Teixeira of Porto Judeu, Eva Pacheco Dutra of Porto Judeu, Maria de Lourdes Pacheco Correia of Hilmar, CA, and Jose Pacheco of San Jose, CA.

He was predeceased by his late brother, the late Manuel Pacheco.

Francisco’s visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. His funeral will take place on Wednesday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
