Susan Marie (Peets) Carey

New Bedford – Susan Marie (Peets) Carey, loving and devoted mother, passed away unexpectedly on January 8, 2022. Born in New Bedford, MA to the late Dorothy (Genereux) Daylor and Herbert Peets.

Sue loved to spend time with her family. She enjoyed crafting, which brought her creativeness to the surface, particularly with putting diamond art paintings together to bring more color to people’s lives. She also custom-made jewelry to bring smiles to people’s faces each time they looked at what she made. She was selfless and made many of the crafts out of kindness, simply for others to enjoy.

Dear sister to John Peets of Florida and the late Sandra (Peets) Coe. She is survived by her sons, Brian J. Peets of MA and Jeff L. Carey Jr. of Kansas City; her daughter, Kristi L. Carey of MA; her grandchildren and by those who knew and loved her.

No beauty shines brighter than that of a good heart. She had a nature you could not help loving, and a heart that was as beautiful as the rising sun, always bringing light into people’s lives.

Susan’s funeral service will be private.
