Manuel Garcia Neves

New Bedford – Manuel Garcia Neves, age 98, of New Bedford, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Margarida Encarnação Lemos Neves, of New Bedford (originally from Pico, Azores) who passed in 2004.

Manuel was born in Pico, Azores to the late Francisco and Amelia Neves of Candelaria, Pico, Azores. He had worked as a machine operator for a cable manufacturer for many years.

He is survived by Son, Manuel I. Dasneves, of Miami, Florida and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and his wife, Lenni Dasneves-Polanco of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; Daughter, Maria Margarida Dasneves and her husband Frank Hawkins of Darien, Connecticut; Granddaughter, Nicole Alexandra Dasneves, of Santa Clarita, California, Granddaughter, Emma Hawkins, of Darien, Connecticut and Grandson, Manuel Alexander Dasneves, of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Maria and Francisca of Candelaria, Pico, Azores.

Manuel’s funeral services are private.
