Maria Fernanda (Craveiro) Dacunha

Dartmouth – Maria Fernanda DaCunha, age 84, of New Bedford passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. She was the beloved wife of the late Gilbert DaCunha.

Maria was born in the Azores, Portugal and was the beloved daughter of Bento Craveiro and Maria Isabel (de Sousa) Craveiro. She had worked as an assembler for an electronics manufacturer for many years.

Maria is survived by her daughter, Albertina Cope and her husband William; her sons, Mario DaCunha and his wife Teresa and Bobby DaCunha and his wife Lisa; grandchildren, Diane Misay, Shaun DaCunha, Tami Misay, William Cope, Andrew DaCunha, Justin DaCunha, Nicholas DeCunha and Peyton DaCunha; 5 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was also the mother of the late David and John DaCunha and sister of the late Conceicao Moniz, Isabela Sousa, Gloria Branquinho, Maria Craveiro and Jose Craveiro.

Maria’s visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Her funeral will take place on Monday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
