Maria Estrela (Amaral) Pereira

Dartmouth – Maria Estrela (Amaral) Pereira, age 76, of Dartmouth passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Mariano Pereira.

Born in Ribeira Grande, St. Michael, Azores, she was the beloved daughter of the late Manuel Amaral and Isabel (Alves) Amaral. She had been a stitcher for Justin Clothing Manufacturing for many years.

Maria is survived by her children, Susan Carvalho and her husband Fernando, Paula Pereira and Miguel Pereira; grandchildren, Jimmy Carvalho, Stephanie Carvalho, Shaun Pereira and Ricardo Pereira; 6 great-grandchildren and her siblings, Fernando Amaral and Osvalda Santos.

She was also the mother of the late Ricardo Pereira and sister of the late Manuel Amaral, Lucia Costa and Jaime Amaral.

Maria’s visiting hours will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Her funeral will take place Tuesday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Cremation will follow.
