Maria (Do Rosario) Rosa

New Bedford – Maria (Do Rosario) Rosa, age 87 of New Bedford, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. She was the beloved wife of the late Jose Rosa.

Maria was born in Corvo, Portugal to the late Manuel Do Rosario and Maria Inacio (Fraga) Do Rosario. She had worked as a machine operator at Cornell Dubilier for many years.

Maria is survived by her children, Debbie Dos Santos and Helia Vasconcelos and her life partner Gary Langton; grandchildren, Kattie Laferriere, Jennie Laferriere and her partner Coby Duarte and Justin Vasconcelos and his wife Carla Vasconcelos; great-grandchildren, Aalliyah and Alicia Crespo, Mikayla and Emma Vasconcelos; 11 siblings; her godchild, Elizabeth Gunnison and her husband Alan Gunnison and her 2 children, Amanda and Jacob Gunnison, her son in law Antonio Dos Santos.

Maria’s visiting hours will be held on Wednesday October 13, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Her funeral will take place Thursday morning beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
