Leo R. Cardinal

New Bedford – Leo Roger Cardinal, 76 of New Bedford, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Irene D. (Hebert) Cardinal.

Leo was born in New Bedford, MA to the late Leo N. Cardinal and Della M. (Beauregard) Cardinal. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who had served during the Vietnam War. He later went on to work as a shipper for Julius Koch Co.

Leo is survived by his wife, Irene Cardinal; son, Brandon S. Cardinal and his wife Jeannine; grandchildren, Jarren, Tori, Lily and Ashlyn; sister, Lauraine Harding, brother, Leon R. Cardinal; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Leo’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. All of those attending are kindly asked to meet directly at the church.
