Jose M. "Joe" Correia

New Bedford – Jose “Joe” M. Correia, age 59, of Dartmouth, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Dawn M. (Arruda) Correia.

He was born in the Azores, Portugal to Mr. and Mrs. Arlindo Correia. After high school Joe served in the U.S. Marines. He later went on to work for the City of New Bedford as a Police Officer and Detective for 27 years. He loved his motorcycle, having cookouts and most of all spending time with his family.

Joe is survived by his wife, Dawn; his father, Arlindo; 2 sets of twin daughters, Julie and Justina Correia and Amy and Angie Correia; grandchildren, Jordan Hilderboan, Spencer Correia, Aijay Ammon, Remy Lamarre and Rowan Lamarre; as well as his half-siblings, Fatima and Richie.

Joe’s funeral arrangements were private.
