Maria C. (Cardoso) Silva

New Bedford – Maria C. (Cardoso) Silva, age 94, of New Bedford, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Francisco Correia Da Silva.

Maria was born in Terceira, Portugal to the late Joaquim Freitas Cardoso and Maria Freitas (Mendonca) Cardoso. She had worked on the line for a suitcase factory for many years.

Maria is survived by her children, Celeste Silva Pereira, Antonio Silva and Juvenalia Da Silva; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her late children, Joao Silva and Francisco Da Silva.

Maria’s funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021. Her visiting hours will be at Perry Funeral Home from 8:30 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
