Francisco Cruz

Acushnet, MA – Francisco Cruz of Murtosa, Portugal and previously of New Bedford for 19 years, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021 with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Maria Do Rosario Cruz.

Born in Murtosa, Portugal he was the son of the late Ana Luiza (de Souza) and Manuel Da Cruz. He was the owner of the Captain Cruz Fishing Vessel.

Francisco is survived by his three daughters, Maria DaSilva and her husband Celestino of Portugal, Helena Magano and her husband Paul of Acushnet and Paula Cruz-Ferreira and her husband Joe of Acushnet; six grandchildren, Vera DaSilva, Hugo DaSilva, Alyssa Sovik, Ryan Magano, Justin Ferreira and Alexis Ferreira and great-grandchildren, Ava Avila, Isla DaSilva, Maddox Sovik, Alaya DaSilva. He is also survived by his siblings, José da Cruz, João da Cruz and Ana Rosa da Cruz.

Francisco’s visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 8:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M. followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in New Bedford, MA at 10:30 A.M. Burial will be private.
