Eugenia A. "Jennie" (Jacintho) Pimentel

New Bedford - Eugenia A. “Jennie” (Jacintho) Pimentel, age 98, of New Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Joaquim “Jack” Pimentel.

Jennie was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, to the late Joseph and Antonia Jacintho. She worked for many years in the Facilities Department at UMass Dartmouth. After her retirement she was a Foster Grandparent at the Northstar Daycare Center.

Jennie was very proud of her Cape Verdean heritage and loved the Cape Verdean culture and music. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and dancing. Jennie was an active and faithful parishioner at Our Lady of Assumption Church. Most importantly, she loved and treasured time spent with her family.

Jennie is survived by daughters, Marie Ramos, Carol Pimentel, Linda Pimentel, Susan Costa and her husband Tony and Patricia Pimentel-Galarza; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Jennie was predeceased by her late sons, Joaquim “Jack” Pimentel and Thomas Walter Pimentel.

Jennie’s visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 18, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Her funeral will take place on Monday, morning, beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
