Ramiro Jesus Lopes

Dartmouth – Ramiro Jesus Lopes, age 85, of Dartmouth passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Mariana (Silva) Lopes, whom he had shared 59 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Vale Francas, Pero Moniz Cadaval, Portugal, he was the son of the late Carlos Lopes and Laura (Conceicao) Lopes. Ramiro had worked for Johnson & Johnson for 35 years. He had been a member of St. John the Baptist Church, where he was involved with church events, the choir and had also served as a Eucharistic Minister.

Ramiro is survived by his loving wife, Mariana; daughter, Doreen Lopes; his sister, Maria Odete Antao and her husband Maximo Antao of New Bedford; his sister-in-law, Natalia Lopes of Dartmouth; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his late brothers, Jose Carlos Lopes, Fernando Lopes and Hermino Lopes.

Ramiro’s visiting hours will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. His funeral will take place Saturday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church 9:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
