Roy C. Silva

New Bedford – Roy C. Silva, age 77, of New Bedford, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Tufts Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Mary Lou (Oliveira) Silva.

Roy was born in Faial, Azores, Portugal to Jose DaSilva and Angelina (Correia) DaSilva. He had been a produce manager at Fernandes Supermarket and later had been the Proprietor/Owner of Park Liquors. Roy loved to fish and spend time with his family. He had played club soccer, enjoyed playing tennis, ping pong, racquetball and bowling.

Roy is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; his 2 children, daughter Jacqueline M. Molleo and her husband Jason and son Jason O. Silva and his partner Amanda; grandchildren, Isabella Silva and Jonah Silva; his sibling, Silveria DaSilva; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister, Bernadette DeMello and his brother, Carlos DaSilva.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Everyone who would like to attend is welcome and the family kindly asks that all attendees please meet directly at the church. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be private.

All attendees are required to wear a face covering at all times, to social distance 6 feet and to please refrain from any close physical contact. Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this time.
