Joseph Edward Beadsworth

It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Edward Beadsworth, of New Bedford, announces his passing on Monday, April 5, 2021 at the age of 60. He was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Aurore (Legere) Beadsworth.

Joey lived most of his life in Dartmouth and was employed as a demolition expert for 30 years, until his retirement. He was a member of the Laborers’ International Union of North America.

Joey was a really sweet guy that would give you the world. He was generous to a fault, a loyal friend, a hard-working guy with a loving heart. Many of Joey’s female friends called him “The Protector”. His friends always said that no matter what the situation was, Joey always had their backs. Through all the trials and tribulations in his life, Joey never stopped giving up on hope, faith and love. He loved his children, Joey and Kevin, his family, his friends and life. He loved riding his Harley and going to Horseneck Beach to take in the beautiful sounds and sights of the ocean. Music was also a passion that he truly enjoyed and Joey went to many, many concerts in his lifetime. Joey was handsome, strong, dedicated and lovable. He will be sadly missed by all those that loved him.

Joey is survived by two sons, Joseph W. Beadsworth of Weymouth and Kevin Avila of Dartmouth; four sisters, Miriam Werbinski of Fall River, Elaine Marshall and her husband Robert of Westport, Lynne Dubois and her husband Michael of Fairhaven and Michelle Arruda and her husband Bryan of Dartmouth, a brother Lawrence Beadsworth and his wife Lisa Li of Dartmouth; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Joseph was predeceased by his sister Janice Beadsworth, and his brother William Beadsworth.

Funeral arrangements will be private at the request of the family.
