Mary Benevides

New Bedford, MA. Mary Benevides, passed away Saturday March 25, 2006, at Nichols House Nursing Home in Fairhaven MA. She was the sister of the late Mary Ponte. Ms. Benevides was the aunt to Nacy Gracia of Freetown, MA., Maria Raposo of New Bedford, MA., Maria “Lucia” P. Ferreira of Dartmouth, MA., Eugene Benevides of New Bedford, MA., and of Louis Pires of New Bedford, MA. She had several Nieces and Nephews in Indiana

Mrs. Benevides was born in St. Michael, Azores. She lived in this area since 1960. She is the daughter of Tome And Francisca (Alcadinha) Benevides. She was a stitcher at Cove Mfg. dress factory. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday March 28, 2006 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be 5 to 8 P.M., on Monday March 27, 2006 at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St.
