New Bedford – Mariana daGloria (deMelo) Rodrigues, age 89, of Dartmouth, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Rodrigues.
Mariana was born in Pilar da Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores to the late Manuel Pereira deMelo and Maria Pavao Rodrigues. She had been a loving homemaker to her family.
Mariana is survived by her daughter, Deolinda DeMello; 11 grandchildren, Steve, Kerrie, Mike, Gene, Kristian, Jeff, Scott, Justin, Danny, Trina and Keith; 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; 2 sisters, Maria daGloria Pimentel and Evalina Pavao and son-in-law, Steven Collins. She was predeceased by her children, the late Alda Collins, Teresa Gemme and Luci Rodrigues and by her siblings, the late Manuel deMelo, Maria Otilia Andrade, Jose deMelo and Joao deMelo.
Mariana’s visiting hours will be held on Friday evening, March 12, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Her funeral will take place Saturday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church Dartmouth at 9:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John Cemetery.
All attendees are required by current mandated restrictions to wear a face covering at all times, to social distance 6 feet and to please refrain from any close physical contact. Attendance in the funeral home will be limited in order to meet the mandated capacity restrictions and could result with a wait time outside of the funeral home. Attendance at the church and the cemetery will also be limited in order to meet their mandated capacity restrictions as well. Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this time.
