Stephen James Cabral

New Bedford – Stephen James Cabral, age 61, of New Bedford, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Born in New Bedford, MA he was the beloved son of Patricia (Vieira) Souza and Phillip Lawrence.

Stephen had been a veteran of the United States Army, and Later worked as a chef at a local seafood establishment. He lived his life for his children and grandchildren who he adored and loved very much. He was a master on the grill and enjoyed every gathering with his family and friends. Along with his many camping and fishing adventures, he had a passion for football, loved his New England Patriots, and appreciated a good game. He will be deeply missed by all.

Stephen is survived by his mother, Patricia Souza and her husband Roger, His father Phillip Lawrence and his wife Tina, along with his children, Brooke Cabral and her husband Loring Mills, Craig Cabral, and the late Steven Cabral; his four beautiful grandchildren, Steven, Brendon, Ethan and Ellie; his siblings, Cheryl Fredette, Lisa Cabral, Mike Cabral, Tracy Cabral, William Lawrence and James Lawrence; many nieces and nephews, and his best friend, Kenneth Motta.

Stephen’s visiting hours with cremains present will take place on Sunday afternoon, February 7, 2021 at Perry Funeral Home from 1:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M.

All attendees are required by current mandated restrictions to wear a face covering at all times, to social distance 6 feet and to please refrain from any close physical contact. Attendance in the funeral home will be limited in order to meet the mandated capacity restrictions and could result with a wait time outside of the funeral home.
