Alfred Alfonse

New Bedford – Alfred Alfonse, age 88, of Dartmouth, passed away on December 20, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Adeline (Freitas) Alfonse.

Born in Newark, New Jersey, he was the son of the late John Alfonse and Mary (Simas) Alfonse. Alfred had been a United States Air Force veteran who served during the Korean War where he received numerous medals for his service. He later went on to become a Sergeant for the UMass Dartmouth Police Force.

Alfred’s survivors include his wife, Adeline; his son, Thomas W. Alfonse Esq; grandchildren, Michael J. Alfonse and Lauran E. Alfonse; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was also predeceased by his late grandson, Thomas W. Alfonse, Jr. and his late siblings, Agnes Avery and Edward Alfonse.

Alfred’s funeral services are private.
