New Bedford – Julia (Rapoza) Pacheco age 96 passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital after a period of declining health. She was born in Bristol, Rhode Island to John S. and Ressurreicao (de Matos) Rapoza. She was the wife of the late Manuel P. Pacheco and mother of the late Leonard M. Pacheco.
She graduated from Roosevelt Junior High School and later worked at Moss Shirt. She later worked at New Bedford Institution for Savings as a teller and then as a manager of the south office.
Survivor’s include her daughter-in-law, Diane O. Pacheco, who she also lived with and dearly loved; her grandson Timothy Pacheco and his wife Kelly; three great-grandchildren, Amanda Signorino and her husband Joseph, Nicholas and Ashley Pacheco; brother in law Joseph Correia and sister in law Louise Rapoza.
She was predeceased by her late siblings David Rapoza, Genevieve Lewis, Izaura Correia and Mary Hathaway.
Julia’s visiting hours and funeral services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020. Visiting Hours will be held at Perry Funeral Home from 9:30 A.M. – 10:30 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. Julie Billiart Church Dartmouth. Cremation to follow.
All attendees are required by current mandated restrictions to wear a face covering at all times, to social distance 6 feet and to please refrain from any close physical contact. Attendance in the funeral home will be limited in order to meet the mandated capacity restrictions and could result with a wait time outside of the funeral home.
