Claire Theresa (Desmarais) Horne

Fairhaven – Claire Theresa (Desmarais) Horne, age 91, of Acushnet, passed away on December 6, 2020 at The Royal of Fairhaven Nursing Home in Fairhaven, MA after a long illness.

She was the beloved wife of 74 years to Farrell K. Horne, daughter of the late Antone and Josephine (Chaput) Desmarais and mother of the late Darryl R. Horne. She was also the sister of the late Leo Desmarais, Dorothy Langbauer and Bernadette Melanson.

She retired from the New Bedford Fillet Seafood Plant and was a very active congregant at New Life Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include her husband, Farrell K. Horne of Acushnet; her son, Kevin D. Horne and his wife Judy of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; her daughter, Deborah L. Leahey and her husband Richard of Warwick, Rhode Island; a brother, Ronald Desmarais; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made out to New Life Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church, 741 Kempton Street, New Bedford, MA 02740.

Funeral service and burial will be private.
