Dorothy (Halliday) Yates

New Bedford – Dorothy Yates, age 92, of Dartmouth, MA passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home. She had been the beloved wife of the late Norman W. Yates.

Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island she was the beloved daughter of the late Robert Halliday and Margaret (Winter) Halliday. Dorothy had been a loving homemaker to her family throughout the years.

Dorothy is survived by her 5 children, Donna Leary and her husband Mark, Norman Yates, David Yates and his wife Susan, William Yates and John Yates and his wife Carol; 6 grandchildren, Sandra Cotton, Mark Leary Jr., Robert Leary, David Yates Jr., Kristin Yates Taylor and Amanda Yates; 8 great-grandchildren and her sister, Barbara Pontes of Florida as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Robert R. Halliday and Susan Walter.

Dorothy’s memorial service will be held on Thursday May 27th from 10:30 A.M. - 11:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Ma.
