Joseph A. Verissimo

Dartmouth – Joseph A. Verissimo, age 60, of Dartmouth, MA passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Patricia C. (Costa) Verissimo.

Born in St. Michael, Azores he was the son of Maria (Brum) Verissimo and the late Antonio Verissimo. Joseph had been a U.S. Navy veteran. He later went on to work as an auto technician for Duarte’s Auto Service for many years.

Joseph had loved working at home and watching football in his free time but most importantly, was the tremendous amount of love he had for his family. His laughter was contagious and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him loved him dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; his daughter, Crystal Marie Avellar; grandson, Tyrell Daniels; siblings, Eduarda Costa of New Bedford, Virginia De Miranda of New Bedford, Duarte Borges of Dartmouth, Candida De Melo of Spring Hill, Fl and Ana Poeira of Dartmouth. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, godchildren and many friends.

A memorial service for Joseph which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held at St. Martin's Church July 17, 2021 at 2:00 PM.
