Aurora (Lameiras) Gaspar

Marion - Aurora (Lameiras) Gaspar, age 91, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at the Sippican Healthcare Center in Marion. Aurora was the wife of the late Albert Gaspar, having shared 68 wonderful years together.

A lifelong resident of New Bedford, until April of this year, Aurora was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Eliza Lameiras. She spent many years working at Rodney Metals and later retired after a 20 year career in banking. So many special friendships were formed with her coworkers and customers along the way.

Although Aurora and her husband never had children of their own, they played a significant role as Tia and Uncy in the lives of their nieces and nephews. She is survived by Bradley Cardoza and wife Candy of Mattapoisett; Lisa Hess and husband Mark of McGaheysville, VA; Brad Cardoza and Jen McHugh of Fairhaven; Ben Cardoza of Mattapoisett; Lindsay Hess of Grottoes, VA; and Madisyn Hess of Newport News, VA. She was preceded in death by her sister, Eulalia Cardoza and niece, Aurora Ritchie.

Aurora was a treasured wife, aunt and friend to so many. She will forever be remembered as a wonderful hostess who loved to do for others.

Respecting her wishes, funeral services will be private.
