Vivaldo Duarte Raposo

New Bedford – Vivaldo Duarte Raposo, age 75, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Eduarda (Remuga) DePina-Raposo.

Born in St. Michael, Azores he was the son of the late Antonio Duarte Raposo and Maria Isabel (Sousa) Raposo. He had been a bus driver for a private company for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Eduarda; his children, Jorge Humberto Sousa Raposo, Aguinaldo Sousa Raposo, Vivaldo Sousa Raposo, Ricardo Raposo, Patricia Sousa Raposo and Sonia Raposo; his step-sons, Cory B. DePina and Jeffrey B. DePina; his siblings, Duarte Sousa, Jose Maria Carreiro and Fatima Medeiros; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was also the father of the late Bruno Raposo.

Vivaldo’s visiting hours and funeral services will take place on Thursday, October 29, 2020. Visiting Hours will be held at Perry Funeral Home from 8:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.

All attendees are required by current mandated restrictions to wear a face covering at all times, to social distance 6 feet and to please refrain from any close physical contact. Attendance in the funeral home will be limited in order to meet the mandated capacity restrictions and could result with a wait time outside of the funeral home.
