Albertina S. (Da Silva) Samagaio

New Bedford – Albertina S. (da Silva) Samagaio, age 94, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020 at Hathaway Manor surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Manuel F. Samagaio.

Born in Faial, Azores she was the daughter of the late Andre da Silva and Maria da Soledade da Silva. Albertina had worked as a stitcher for both Paul Modes and Mar Lil Manufacturing.

She is survived by her husband, Manuel; her daughter, Maria Lucinda Sao Marcos and her husband Antonio Luis; her 2 grandchildren, Sergio Sao Marcos and his wife Jessica and Lisa Sao Marcos Gomes and her husband Matthew; 4 great grandchildren, Sergio Sao Marcos, Lucas Sao Marcos, Logan Gomes and Jaxson Gomes; her brother, Arnaldo Silva; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Jose Tomaz da Silva, Marcelino da Silva, Fernanda Carvalho, Josefina da Silva, Maria Julia da Silva and Andre da Silva.

Albertina’s visiting hours and funeral services will take place on Thursday morning, October 22, 2020. Her visiting hours will be from 8:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.

All attendees are required by current mandated restrictions to wear a face covering at all times, to practice social distancing of 6 feet and to please refrain from any close physical contact. Attendance in the funeral home will be limited in order to meet the mandated capacity restrictions and could result with a wait time outside of the funeral home.
