Mark S. Kaminski

d. October 7, 2020

Fall River – Mark S. Kaminski, age 63, of Fall River, MA passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, October 7, 2020. Born in Fall River, MA he was the beloved son of Leonora (Gomes) Kaminski and the late Louis Kaminski.

Mark was one of eight children born to two loving parents on June 24, 1957. His life-long career in the auto body trade and his passion for cars began during childhood at his father’s business, Bridge Auto in Assonet. By the time he was in his early twenties, he built and owned his own business, Underground Auto Body, which was also in Assonet. He had a special affinity for classic car restoration but also worked as a mechanic, heavy equipment operator, and repaired boats and race cars as well. Fascinated with learning new skills and having new experiences, he was truly a jack of all trades and a master of many.

Mark was a classic just like the cars he worked on. He radiated individuality, forged his own path, and lived life fully on his own terms. He will forever be remembered as a man with a zest for life and a playful personality having plenty of charisma to spare. His boisterous laugh alone could bring a smile to your face. He always found a way to bring spontaneity, adventure, and fun to the lives of his family and friends, leaving each of them with memories that will last a lifetime.

Although he was fearless and thoroughly enjoyed driving in the fast lane, most of all he enjoyed the simple times spent with those he loved. Some of his favorite times were making pierogis with his mother and sisters, working on cars or fishing with his father and brothers, taking trips to Attitash with his two children, and sharing grinders from Marzilli’s and hot dogs from Roger’s with anyone and everyone.

Mark was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by his mom, Leonora; his son, Mark Kaminski Jr. and his wife Kimberly Otis, his daughter, Kara Kaminski and her husband Edward Foster; two grandsons, Kade and Kaine Kaminski. He is also survived by his siblings, Louis Kaminski, Jr., Linda Marley, Bruce Kaminski, David Kaminski, April Dawson, Lisa Kaminski and James Kaminski and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Mark’s celebration of life will take place on Saturday, October 24th from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, MA 02740.
