Ada Elvin Ortiz

New Bedford – Ada Elvin Ortiz, age 62, of New Bedford passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved daughter of the late Gualberto Ortiz and Gloria M. Colon.

Ada was born in Maunabo, Puerto Rico, from there she moved to New Britain, CT and eventually, moved to New Bedford, where she remained for 35 years. Ada was always a happy person and her smile was infectious. She made a friend wherever she went. Ada was always kind and was a gentle soul. Her love was for her grandchildren and her family.

Ada is survived by her 3 children, Hector L. Ortiz and his wife Lori, Carl N. Greenlee and wife Lewla and Carla C. Greenlee; her grandchildren, Nathan Ortiz and Dominic Ortiz, Hector and Lori’s children, Jeyssus Oliviera, Jwellz Oliviera and Jeremyah Oliviera, Carl and Lewla’s children and Angel Garcia, Janicia Vasquez and Gyovannie Vasquez, Carla’s children.

She is also survived by her siblings, Carmen Ortiz and Jose Escalera; as well as her lifelong companion, Elbert C. Greenlee. She was also the sister of the late Roberto Rodriguez and Richard Ortiz.

Ada’s funeral services will be private due to the recent mandated restrictions in regards to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
