Assuncao Martins

New Bedford – Assuncao Martins, age 85, of New Bedford passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Carlos Martins.

Born in St. Michael, Azores she was the beloved daughter of the late Manuel Martins and Branca (Pinheiro) Martins. Assuncao had been employed at Cliftex Corp. for many years.

She is survived by her children, Ana M. Martins and her husband Joao and Carl M. Martins and his wife Elle; grandchildren, Brian Martins, Kendra Botelho, Kevin Martins, Darbie Costa and Shannon Martins; great-grandchildren, Raquel, Mason, Gianna, Leora, Mathieu, Kellen and Thomas; brother, Anibal Martins; sister, Eduarda Jacob; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by several siblings.

Assuncao’s funeral services will be private due to the recent mandated restrictions in regards to the Covid-19 Pandemic. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date when friends and family can safely come together. Please check back on the website for the updates.
